Tomislav Zbozinek, PhD

Hi! My name is Dr. Tomislav Zbozinek, and I am a licensed clinical psychologist. I provide therapy in my private practice, and I am also Associate Director of UCLA's Anxiety and Depression Research Center.

I primarily treat anxiety, depression, stress, and self-criticism, but I have experience treating a variety of difficulties. I approach therapy with compassion, kindness, warmth, thoughtfulness, and genuineness. In therapy, people often share vulnerable aspects of themselves, and I honor their openness with respect, validation, and putting in effort to help them live their lives more fully.

I provide treatments that have been shown to work for many people, known as evidence-based treatments. You can take a look at the Treatment Details tab for more info.

Please take a look at this website to get a feel for what therapy might look like with me. If you're interested in working together, please contact me by email, phone, or text. I look forward to speaking with you!

When to Consider Seeking Therapy

  1. Want to talk to someone who will listen?

  2. Want someone to give you advice?

  3. Feeling stuck?

  4. Feeling misunderstood?

  5. Do you criticize yourself?

  6. Curious to find out if therapy will help you?

  7. Do you have a recurring problem that's difficult to cope with or solve?

  8. Are you experiencing anxiety, depression, or stress?

  9. Is your life becoming more limited or constrained (e.g., are you avoiding important, meaningful, or enjoyable parts of life)?

  10. Are you engaging less in relationships, work, school, personal interests, hobbies, or other areas of importance?

  11. Are trusted people in your life suggesting you talk to a therapist?

  12. You're generally doing fine, but there's a problem or two you'd like someone to listen to or help with?

  13. You previously worked with a different therapist but would like a "booster session" with a new psychologist? No problem! I will do my best to get up to speed quickly and help you with your "booster" question/issue.

  14. You want a second opinion?

  15. You're not really sure if you need therapy? No problem! I offer a complimentary 15-minute consultation and can help you decide for yourself whether you'd like to try therapy - either with me or someone else. (click here for contact info)
